EmpowerConfidence
We unlock potential and build confidence — so a woman can speak in a room she was once kept out of.
Learn more →SSW is a women-led organization working alongside women and their communities across Pakistan — with training, education, health and rights programs that women run themselves.
01 About SSW

SSW began in 2017 as a handful of women in Lahore teaching each other to read a contract.
Today we run programs in 32 districts — and most of them are led by women who joined us as participants.
We don't arrive with a plan. We ask what a community already has, what it's missing, and who's ready to lead — then we fund the training, the childcare and the transport that make it possible for her to show up.

Reported every year, verified with the communities themselves.
“I came for the sewing class. Two years later I employ four women from my street, and my daughter is still in school.”

03 How we work

We unlock potential and build confidence — so a woman can speak in a room she was once kept out of.

We promote knowledge, skills and awareness — taught in her language, close to home, on her schedule.

We create pathways to growth and leadership — mentors, sisterhood and a seat at the table.
Learn more →04 Why women choose us
Every one of these came out of asking women who had left another program why they stopped going.
Every program is free at the point of joining. No enrolment charge, no materials fee, no repayment on the start-up grants.
We pay for childcare and transport, because those are the two reasons women told us they had to drop out.
Sessions run in Urdu, Punjabi or Saraiki — whichever the group speaks at home. Nothing is taught in a language she has to translate.
Program leads are hired from the districts they serve, and most came through the programs themselves.
Graduation isn't the end. Start-up grants, market links and a mentor stay in place through the first year of earning.
We report what worked and what didn't, verified with the communities themselves — not just the numbers that flatter us.
05 Our app
Our free mobile app puts programs, mentors and emergency support one tap away
From pregnancy tracking to community support, Saheli offers a complete suite of features designed specifically for Pakistani women's healthcare needs.

06 Our values
We exist to create sustainable change and empower women to lead better lives and stronger communities — not to grow an organization.
We publish what worked and what didn't. If a program isn't changing lives a year later, we close it rather than renew it.
Every woman is welcome, whatever her faith, caste, income or schooling. Her story is hers to tell — we never use it without consent.
07 Get the app
Available now on Android. Free, always.

08 Gallery
Photographs are published only with the written consent of the women in them.
09 Our team
Between them they have spent more than forty years in the districts we work in. Three of the four joined SSW as participants.

10 Get involved
Want to enrol in a program, teach on one, or sponsor a woman's training year? Tell us which, and we'll write back within two working days.
One email a quarter: stories from the women in our programs, new intake dates and where we need volunteers.
We send four emails a year. Unsubscribe any time.
We believe that if this technology can save or empower even a single woman in a remote area, then Saheli must exist.
SSW works alongside women and communities across Pakistan through training, education, health and rights programs that women run themselves. We believe lasting change happens when women lead the solutions in their own districts.
